[...] If you are in a business that may grow to the point of franchising, forget about trademarking the logo mark. After all, the whole point, from the printer’s point of view, is to “sell” as many logos as possible, getting as many card orders as they can handle. Which means duplication, which means your brand is not unique. Which means you are on your way to being generic. [...]

As a company we were asked if we could take up a photo shoot at a small budget and this was exactly we were looking for. Would you recommend any additional lighting as the sunlight during noon in our parts of the world beats down real hard. Also how far is this from the window?

Hey! I support what you have shared here on your article (Informative Article!!) and want to add something more; when you are considering to use an abn register for your business as thirdparty, the most obvious advantage is that your abn gets processed within 24 hours, especially when you log in and register for abn number online. This is much better than waiting for 5-6 weeks at the Australian Register’s office or the Australian Tax Office. Other advantages also include following up on the abn register process (you can’t do this at the Australian Register’s office) with the third party, the abn process is also easy as you can fill up a form in less than 60 minutes unlike the huddles that you have to jump through at the ATO for your abn australia. For more please contact me. Sorry for my bad english, I am not a native!!

Hi Lorena. I highly doubt that Google penalises your site because of the URL structure between hyphens and no hyphens. I haven't seen anything in the media, on SEO sites, or in Google about using "run-on" keyword phrases, but that doesn't mean your web developer is wrong! I think you need to think of it from a practical point of view. What would happen to the millions of sites that exist now with the URL structure you have? There would be a massive problem if your web developer is correct. Have a look around at the top ranking sites, and also at SEO guru sites. They all use hyphens in their URLs. Google is all about creating content for the user. I personally find a URL with hyphens easier to read than a run-on URL and I don't think I'm the only one. I will personally be keeping hyphens in all my URL structures as I find them easier to read, Google can read them and my customers can read them. Win win win.

Thank you for the information provided regarding getting customers to find your products. I am seeing so much information on SEO practices and Google search that it makes my head spin. So that is why I am emailing you. I was wondering if you could answer the following question, if you would be so kind.

My web programmer recently told me that I no longer have to create urls with hyphens in them as Google can now differentiate keywords in "run-on keyword phrases." He said Google actually doesn't like hyphens and we should use them as little as possible. For instance, I use Magento platform for my ecommerce site and when I create a product page, it creates a url using hyphens. For example, let's say I am selling a rug called Flip Flops Rug, the url it creates is flip-flops-rug. He said I no longer need the hyphens and should instead create the url as flipflopsrug. He said part of the reason is that consumers now-a-days are not typing the "space" when searching as they are in a hurry and they are typing in a run-on-sentence and Google is more sophisticated now that it can separate the keywords without the help of the hyphens.

This is all new to me so I was wondering if you could let me know what I should do. Also, for those product pages that have the hyphens (since this is new to me), should I leave those as is or change all the urls to not include hyphens.
